Why is Relational Ministry So Hard?
I love hanging out with friends, just talking and laughing; it’s my favorite thing to do. So why do I struggle with peer to peer relational ministry? I guess it’s because the minute it’s called ministry I change my focus. I get serious and forget to just relax. A friend was telling me that good small groups have three interactions a week outside of a group’s normal meeting time. This thought was overwhelming, I barely have enough time to connect with the few friends I have now, let alone reach out three times to others. I started to think how I would do this and again I came down to being intentional. I am challenging myself to reach out to more people and to relax and just listen. I will let you know how it’s going.
