Movements without Leaders
I have been noticing lately that major movements in America don’t have leaders. The Tea Party and Occupy Wall Street are growing movements that work hard not to have a leader. Why would these movements not want a leader. A person who could speak for them and be the focus point for the movement? Inspire the troops and lead the charge? I’m guessing here, but I think the reason is character. These movements have come to realize that when you have a leader the opposition can tear the leader down by making accusations about their character. I think we’ve gotten to the point in a American history where character matters more than ever before. In fact it matters so much that we have decided just to eliminate the leader. It’s funny that we don’t grow our character, instead we get rid of the leader. How convenient and cowardly.
