Hunger and Thirst
Yesterday, here in Pawleys Island, it was about 95 degrees with high humidity. Needless to say, I was thirsty! It started me thinking about my students who love to worship. They sing, raise their hands, and lay on the floor before God. Over and over I hear, “Lord we are hungry, hungry for more of you.” But ask them to be on time for personal devotions in the morning and you get complaints mixed with slow movements. So last night, I laid it out for them, “you can’t say you’re hungry and thirsty for God, unless your actions show it.” I explained that its better to obey than to sacrifice.
To be honest, I don’t think they must do their devotions everyday. But I do believe that if they say they want more of God, they should live it out.
This morning, everyone was at devo’s about 10 minutes early. Often a strong challenge can bring change.
