Experience x3
I grow up in a great church with a rock-star youth pastor who wrote lots of books and started his own student mission organization. I attended Wheaton College and got a degree in youth ministry. I was a volunteer for many years before I became a full-time youth worker. Yet, even with all this knowledge, my first few years of being a youth pastor I sucked! The truth is you are never prepared to be a youth pastor unless you have received on the job training from a mentor who believes in you and your potential.
Men and women who are preparing to go into youth ministry listen up! You need more than a degree, you need a mentor.
LeaderTreks offers a program called Summit. Five folks just like you spend two years with a mentor, doing youth ministry and leadership development. It’s in-depth, it’s about community and it will prepare you for transformational ministry. Check out the Summit Team https://staging.leadertreks.org/summit-info.html
